A Simple Winter Centerpiece & A Chippy Rustic Box

Even though I haven't been stressing over the holidays, I'm still a pretty busy mom and wife and house cleaning lady, ha ha ha, unfortunately I can't afford one to clean my house, so yup, that lady has to be me.

With that said, I don't always have time to come up with elaborate centerpieces or a whole tablescape for that matter.  I will if I make time but during Christmas we don't normally host anything so a simple Winter centerpiece is usually what I like to go for.

Remember that wooden box I talked about a while back? ... well I gave it a little makeover and I love it even more so now.

I used the exact method that I used on the shutters, you can see here.

I really, really love how it turned out and simply filled the bottom of it with a few mini boxes to elevate the candles and filled around them with walnuts I bought at my grocery store and left over greenery from my fresh garland, bought at Home Depot.

Isn't it such a pretty simple winterpiece?

I love that it gives our home that simple english cottage feel, because let's be honest, our nest is exactly that, as small as a cottage and I love it.

Let me know your thoughts, do you prefer the before look or after?

I love both but if I had to choose, it'd be the after.  I love white and anything chippy.

I'm really loving this crackle method from Country Chic Paint and I am definitely going to be using it even more in the near future.  I haven't had much time to work on other projects lately, but I have quite a few lined up, so be on the lookout.

I hope you're all having a wonderful December so far, and though Winter is barely around the corner, we're already enjoying no higher than 60's weather here in SoCal and I'm so thankful for that.

Winter is my second favorite season.
