End Of The Year Thoughts & First Experiences | 2018

In all honesty, this is a first for me.  I don't normally get this emotional on New Year's Eve, okay, maybe I have but its very occasional (doesn't happen every year) and I don't always tend to want to write it down shockingly.  So its a first on the blog for sure.

Let's say, its been a while since I've been this emotional, in a good way of course.  This year could have had a different ending of course, and eventually I'll talk more about that and share here.  Things did tend to take a turn for the better and I'm so thankful and beyond blessed because otherwise I'm not sure I'd even be wanting to share any kind of emotion, really.

Though this year was a year of a lot of firsts for me and us as a family.

I'll be sharing some of my favorite first moments and more over on my Instagram stories later today, so make sure to visit and take a peak.

Here are a few firsts and truly memorable moments that I can think of off the top of my head....

First Trip to San Francisco with the Kids.

Helped My Daughter host her first Galentine's party and we both attended our first as well.

Had the pleasure of reconnecting with my long lost sister and brother and attended and shared in the experience of my sister's special wedding day with her and the rest of her family.

Taylor from Uniquely Taylor Made and I attending our first Pinners Conference in Southern California.

I was able to learn more and finally become part of the Young Living Essential Oil family, best decision ever for better health and living for me and my family.

My daughter and I had the fun experience of being able to visit Joshua Tree in Yucca Valley and was able to squeeze in a little photo shoot of my own ;)

Got to experience my very first painting party class with my girlfriends for a GNO, so fun, everyone should do this at least once.

My blog got a new name, not a drastic change but one that was much needed which I was afraid of doing but one that was a long time coming.

I joined a wonderful group of women/mom's in my neighborhood and had the fun experience of joining them for a couple of gatherings which I can't tell you every neighborhood should have this type of group for much needed mom time away.

Thanks to a lovely blogger friend and her recommendation I was able to attend my first ConnectHer conference in Las Vegas solo and it was definitely one of a kind experience that I hope to continue to attend every year where ever it may be.

Celebrated the last year in my 30's at Glen Ivy with my daughter, sister and friend and it was the very best experience yet!

My daughter and I got to see Mumford & Sons, Beck, Young the Giant and so many other great bands for the very first time at Ohana Fest and together which was the best experience too, this was definitely a highlight this year!

Oh and hello, we hosted yet another Blogger Meetup, finally, because we were wayyyy over due, but it was definitely our first and biggest turn out yet!!

Visited South Coast Botanical gardens in Palos Verdes and last but not least I got to visit Harry Potter World at Universal Studios this month with my daughter, so it definitely ended with an unforgettable one!

Its been one for the books I tell ya, and a lot of firsts.

How we end 2018 this year is yet to be determined, but I must say, we tend to celebrate and make the most of the year as much as we can throughout, so it never feels forced or obligated to stay up till midnight new years eve.  We look forward to waking up refreshed and welcome the following day and new year with open arms as we begin a new chapter in our lives.  God has blessed me with a wonderful home and family and I don't take that for granted one bit.

Regardless, of however we end the year home, at a friend's house or at the movies like we did last year, I love getting the house prepped with appetizers, fulfilling food and tasty toasting drinks.  Not to mention this year, Chinet provided me with a nice set of their Cut Crystal plates, wine stemless glasses and utensils.  It makes it feel that much more classy and fun and super easy to clean up and recycle.

This year felt celebratory with both ups and downs and yet with the best outcomes I could have imagined, and so my heart felt light and airy and so I love the silver and pale blush decor that I incorporated in our NYE essentials.  Different from the normal black and gold and less heavy.

I used as much as I could of things we already had on hand and wanted easy to snack on snacks prior to dinner being served, so you can't go wrong with some walnuts (good for you) and boxed chocolate candies (good for you too ;p)

Some virgin spritzer cranberry drinks for the under aged and mimosas for mom, yes, please, thank you!!

Friends, as always, thank you for stopping by the blog to have a little read with me and I can't tell you how much it means to me that you take time out of your days to visit me here!!

I wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2019!!

Cheers!!!
