Here are Some Reasons Why You Can’t Sleep At Night

It can be frustrating, not being able to sleep at night. I can personal attest to that.

At times, you may wonder why you can’t sleep and others may wonder why you can’t stay awake. All of this can have a knock-on effect on your health, not to mention that it can also make it much harder for you to maintain a good level of concentration throughout the day. If this sounds like you then you have nothing to worry about however because there are things that you can do to try and get back into a good routine.

Checking the Clock

If you are constantly checking the clock then this can have a huge impact on your sleep. This type of behavior will really cause you to feel anxious as well. For example, when you wake up at 3 am like I do most nights and you realize that you only have 3-4 hours to try and get more sleep, you then wake yourself up even more by worrying about time. If you want to try and prevent all of this then you can easily take your bedroom clock down to see if this helps you to sleep better at night.

Drinking Alcohol

You may love a glass of your favorite alcoholic beverage right before bed and this is a great way for you to unwind, but if you are not careful then it may be interfering with your sleep far more than you realize. Alcohol is a diuretic, and it can also dehydrate you. For this reason, when you go to sleep, you may wake up feeling like you need a glass of water and you may also need the bathroom more as well. As if that wasn’t enough, alcohol will stop you from getting into a deep sleep. You’ll be limited to a shallower sleep and this won’t help you to feel rested first thing in the morning.

Snoring

Believe it or not, snoring is one of the big reasons why a lot of people can’t sleep at night. If your partner is grunting or snoring all night then try and get them to change their sleeping position. Consider elevating their pillow or even sleep in a separate room for a day. When you do this, you can then find out if this is the true cause of the problem. If you cannot seem to stop the snoring issue, then a doctor may be able to help.

Oils

Young Living Oils, have really helped a lot the last few months. We've actually been using them on ourselves and around our home for almost a year now. It has kept doctor visits to almost none except annuals and diffusing them just before bed and throughout the night helps with every membrane. You can learn more about them here and if you're interested in ordering your first kit, visit here.

Poor Mattress

A poor mattress can stop you from getting comfortable enough to sleep. You may find that when you toss and turn and you may also find it difficult to stay in one position as well. If this sounds like you then an eco-friendly mattress may be the way to go. When buying a mattress, it helps to make sure that you are buying one that is suited to your sleeping preferences, whether it is a firmer mattress or a more cushioned one. While you’re doing that, it may also be worth giving your pillows a quick check for lumps too.

Hope these tips help in helping you get the best sleep you deserve. After making certain adjustments, I've been able to sleep much better. Remember to help your self and do what works best for you by trying different ways and changing certain things.
