Many of us will have heard of the term wellness and then think that it is something out of reach. We could also think that wellness is only for people that are into holistic medicine, yoga, or are wellness doctors. Not true.
When everyday people are just working on the day to day of living, ‘wellness’ can seem like something quite far off. But this kind of thinking is a mistake. Wellness is nothing more than some small simple choices that we make each day, that then lead to some very big changes over time. But it all starts with small changes and decisions we make and choose to do each day.
The key thing to remember is that anyone can achieve wellness, whether you work full-time, are a stay at home mom, or do a whole host of other things. You don’t need fancy kitchen skills to cook, or have to have a lot of money to spend on expensive activewear. You just have to start it all off with one thing after another.
Here are some steps to wellness, one day at a time.
Eat One Green Food Per Day
Eat your greens is often what we hear from when we were young. But the truth is that having one green vegetable a day, at least, is a healthy way to get healthier without having to really think about it too much. Adding some broccoli to your dinner or throwing in some spinach to your smoothie, can be a simple change. Some greens or leafy kale can make a difference. Just make sure that it is green and natural, and it will give you a lot of healthy nutrition, promote wellness, and help to protect you from disease.
Don’t Over Sit Your Welcome
Sitting down is not as evil as we often hear. So if you have a desk job, then don’t fret that all is lost. However, that being said, it is important that we don’t overstay our welcome. So if there is a chance to take a walk, talk on the phone but standing up, or even doing work on your laptop, it can all make a difference to your health and wellness. We can all enjoy watching TV or movies, but if you want to do that, then just make sure that you are being active in between.
Listen to your body
It is important to make sure that you are listening to your body each day. There will be small things that can happen, and you might know the reason. For example, if you have a headache, then it could be because you have had a bad night’s sleep or have had a lot of caffeine. But if you are able to listen to your body, then it will make such a difference when something does come up. If you are noticing the small things, then it will make such a difference when something small is going on with your body. Then it can be dealt with quickly and you’ll be on your way to wellness.
Get what you need
Like paying attention to the daily things with your body can make a difference, so can making sure that you have all of the small things that you need, in order to make a difference. For example, if you need hearing aids, then you will need to make sure that you have got enough hearing aid batteries so that you’re not in trouble when they run out. You could also think about getting the right food in your house, so that you’re not tempted with anything else. The right equipment for exercise, if that is what helps you to be motivated, can be another good idea. When you’re prepared with the right things, it can make a big difference.
Do Something You Love Every Single Day
Doing something that you love each day can be something as simple as cooking your favourite meal, writing in a journal, taking part in a hobby, or even taking a nap. When you do something just for you, and for what you enjoy, then it can make a massive difference. It can help to lift your mood, feel happier, and release those feel good hormones that are essential to have on a regular basis.
As you can see, a few simple changes can make such a difference to your overall health and wellness. It can help your health overall, and help you to feel happier and healthier, regardless of what is going on around you. What changes will you be making first?
