No this is not Superbowl related post but hey, you can most definitely get inspired to create this in the shape of a football because who wouldn't want to try these!
But with the The Academy Awards just a week away from Sunday you at least now have the time to make these and make them the highlight of your party or the party you're bringing them to. I love the Oscars, and having the perfect snacks and desserts are MY highlight because it all just comes full circle, and who doesn't love Champagne let alone Jello!
It didn't take much to get me inspired to make these Champagne Jello Squares, they're basically a 2-step process. Four ingredients plus sprinkles which are optional of course.
Here is what you'll need.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 Cups Champagne (divided)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 3 Gelatin Envelopes
- Variety White Sprinkles and/or Edible Gold Glitter
Instructions
- Combine 1-1/4 cups champagne, lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan.
- Sprinkle and mix in the gelatin.
- Let the gelatin soften for about two minutes then heat mixture over low to medium heat.
- Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in remaining 1/4 cup of champagne.
- Grease a square cake pan or what you have on hand with Non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour mixture into pan mold and chill for 2 hours or over night until firm.
Invert jello to parchment paper-lined cutting board and slice into squares. Sprinkle squares with sprinkles.
I actually decided to add edible gold glitter into the jello mixture while heating so it would have a some edible fun to it.
Serve cold.
No body likes champagne served warm or at room temperature.
Let me know if you happen to make these or simply tag your own Oscar worthy Champagne Jello Squares with #CCBeats. Or tag any of your Oscar worthy snacks because I love getting inspired too.
I for one cannot wait to watch, any thoughts on the nominees this year??
