It's not a sweet Mother's Day without a good brunch to celebrate, or is it?!
This year, only seems right to celebrate just about anything worth celebrating. Especially a MOM. Mother's and father's are not only raising, educating and creating a home for their families all year round but within the last year they had it twice as hard possibly. Therefore this year only seems that much more celebratory.
In any case, there's always something sweet about celebrating Mother's Day, whether it may be with family and/or friends, a sweet brunch tablescape goes a long way and any mother would appreciate!
Simple yet modern is the theme this year, with a bohemian twist.
Our dining room has seen a few transformations throughout the years we've lived in this house. But it wasn't until last year that I decided to finally invest on a much needed long table. It's come in pretty handy for all of the things for our family. We eat here, craft here, work here, create here, have coffee here, have long or short family discussions here and we couldn't be happier with it. It even already has a few scuffs and dents from all the love and use it's been getting.
The best part though is having family meals here and dressing up the table any chance we get.
We couldn't help ourselves and put this table setting together when we realized that we had left over flowers from Haus353, my daughter works alongside with them on occasion to host outdoor picnics, anyway, it only seemed appropriate to display these beauties!
We literally shopped our house for the rest of the items here, we also couldn't help but bake one of our infamous PaperCrownSugar Olive Oil cakes plus some delicious cinnamon rolls for some extra sweetness. It's technically not brunch without something sweet, or is it?
This table setting came together so easily with some of our must have hosting essentials and all we used was some of our every day use white plates to set up with our fancy minimalist gold cutlery from Target! Not sure if they still carry this set but I'll make sure to link similar ones at the end of this post.
Champagne glasses are from CB2 and smaller whiskey glasses were a gift from my sister a while back. Everything else on this table is literally thrifted.
Throwing a runner on the table and adding the rest is as easy as it gets friends. Play with the setting of your plates, napkins and cutlery. Everything else is interchangeable and looks completely beautiful with a simple bouquet of flowers or two mini ones like on our table. And throwing in a couple of candle sticks or votives doesn't hurt it only enhances the cozy and warm boho chic feel.
You don't need a lot to create a table setting sweet enough to enjoy a good meal with your favorite people. Just don't forget the champagne or mimosas!
What are you looking forward to most this Mother's Day??
