Summer is the perfect time to get away from it all and spend some time on the beach or a resort.
Many women will pack their bags and hit the road in the next few weeks.
If you're looking for a checklist of uncommon things to bring on your extended summer vacation, look no further!
1. Your entire skincare regimen
During your summer vacation, you'll likely spend a lot of time in the sun. Make sure you bring your entire skincare regimen to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Always pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect your face. If you'll be swimming, make sure to pack waterproof sunscreen.
Don't forget to moisturize throughout the trip and use a night cream to repair any damage done during the day.
2. A hairdryer and straightener
Even if you're going on vacation to the beach or the pool, you may still want to bring your hairdryer and straightener. Many women feel more confident and put together when they have their normal hair routine. If you're going to be staying in a hotel, bring your own hairdryer and straightener so you don't have to use the ones provided.
3. Your coffee machine
If you can't start your day without a cup of coffee, make sure to pack your personal coffee maker machine. There's nothing worse than being on vacation and not being able to get your morning caffeine fix. You know that you won't always like the taste of the coffee they serve in the hotel or at the beach house, so bring your own machine and some favorite coffee beans to make sure you'll have a perfect morning cup of Joe.
4. A small sewing kit
Accidents happen, and it's always good to be prepared. A small sewing kit can come in handy if you need to fix your dress or pants seam. You may also be able to use it to fix a broken strap on your bag or a button that falls off. Whatever the reason, it's always good to have a small sewing kit on hand, just to be safe.
5. A yoga mat
During a long vacation that you should spend relaxing, you may want to get a little bit of exercise. If that's the case, bring along your yoga mat so you can do some yoga in your room or on the beach.
Yoga is a great way to relax and de-stress, and it's a workout that you can do anywhere. You can always look up some yoga poses online if you're not sure how to get started.
6. A power strip
Most hotel rooms only have one or two outlets, and if you're traveling with a lot of electronics, you'll quickly run out of plugs. Bring along a power strip to give yourself more outlets to use. This will come in handy when you're traveling and when you get home and have to plug in all of your electronics at once.
Remember to pack your chargers, adapters, and power banks as well, so you can keep all of your devices powered up.
7. A book light
If you like to read before bed, be sure to pack a book light. This will come in handy if you're trying to read in a dark room or if you're traveling and don't want to disturb your companions. There are several different book lights available on the market, so find one that's best for you and your needs.
8. A noise machine
If you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring a noise machine with you on your vacation. This will help drown out any noise that may keep you up at night, such as traffic or people talking in the hallway. When you're looking for a noise machine, be sure to find one with a variety of sounds to choose from to find the perfect one for you.
9. A portable air conditioner
If you're traveling to a hot climate, be sure to pack a portable air conditioner. This will help keep you cool and comfortable in your hotel room or beach house. Some portable air conditioners are smaller and more compact than others while still giving a nice cool breeze. Find the one that's best for you and your needs.
10. A water bottle
Lastly, it's important to stay hydrated when having fun during the summer. Pack a water bottle to always have easy access to water when you need it. This is especially important if you're going to be traveling and doing a lot of walking.
Staying hydrated will help keep you feeling your best during your vacation.
Summer vacations are a time to relax and have fun. But before you go, consider packing these uncommon things in your bag to truly make the most of your vacation. There's something for everyone on this list, from skincare products and yoga mats to AC machines and power strips.
So be sure to pack what you need to enjoy your time away from home.
