Yes, I'm finally sharing this space and I'm so excited. And as you know, each and every room in this house has just about gotten a fresh coat of paint including our basement. Because of leftover paint, I tried to stick with similar colors all around and use as much of what we had rather than buying new paint for every room.
We wanted to give each room a fresh coat and make it as livable as possible in the meantime, while we decide which route we want to go with each room in the long run. This will buy us time in how we'll transform the interior as we live with it. Truth is besides the upstairs floors there wasn't much in the budget to gut anything out and in reality we love the layout of our home as is. If we replace anything it'll be pretty cosmetic.
So let's move on to the basement shall we.
Here is the before of the same view.
Here is the After shot of the wet bar area....
Here is the before.
The before shots I took after having already been moved in a few weeks, but as you can see nothing had been painted yet. But I did start testing paint swatches. Again working with what I had, I knew I wanted to paint these cabinets downstairs right away.
Chalk paint for the win once again. I used Licorice from Country Chic Paint that I already had from previous projects for the wet bar cabinets.
These are all quick fixes of course in the meantime until we decide to swap out cabinets, countertop, and design. But we're pretty happy with how it's all turned out for now and with a little paint, everything else goes a long way. The furniture now has a place and doesn't feel out of place or odd in this space because the wall color gives it a cozy feel.
Here is what the rest of the room looks like. Take a look.
Besides using some items that we brought with us from our previous home, most of the furniture here is from FBMP and only a the sofa and coffee table were actually purchased after moving into our home.
We're still missing curtains in here, flooring will eventually get replaced, including ceiling light fixtures, but it's coming along and as I continue to update this space I will make sure to update you as well.
I hope that this motivates you all to update a space with only paint and I've made sure to link some of the actual and similar sources in this room below.
